Yes , They look Horseyish . How big are they ? can you fit your foot through them ? If not , they could of been hardware for those wooden horse hanes for when they pull stuff .

Looks like the part that supported the reins and kept them out from underfoot on a team of mules or horses. Hangs the reins over the hips of the horses.

Hi EW, I found one similar to yours here in Germany. Probably right about the age of mid to late 1700s as I find many relics and coins around that area dating 1700-1800s. I thought it was some kind of horse tack as well. HH and neat finds, Mike
