Bridle rosette and pocket knife

Had an hour at one of my sites. Got this I think it's a large rosette and this rough looking knife. I'm trying to go to my union cavalry site tomorrow with my buddy.

Can't tell for sure-
Pocket knife looks like it has tortoise shell scales.
Possibly made by Imperial.
