A friend of mine found this two-piece button on an old homestead site in Eastern Ontario.
Unfortunately, the metal back has rotted out and we were hoping somebody might recognize it and help date it for us. :dontknow:

I'm still not sure which Regiments/Militia these are meant to be assigned to, but the Crown is Victorian, so you have a rough date of about 1840 ish
