Just a few meters from the location where we found objects post in : http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,429009.0.html , I was surprised to find something special just 9-10 inches deep, a very well preserved bronze ax , 2200-1100 BC :hello2:
:wav:
Finding such a thing is a fantastic feeling and I could not believe I'm the one who holds for the first time after thousands of years this object...

Fantastic find--super-cool!

All the best,

Lanny
Thanks Lanny :hello:

I like the Bill Monroe classic "Lonesome Moonlight Waltz" as much as the axe head.

Good find!

That is a great find!!! I would love to find something like that.

I see you are in Romania. I have a friend who recently moved to Romania to play professional basketball. Her name is Veronica Hicks and she plays for "Sportiv Nova Vita". It sounds like she has found the people to be very friendly and welcoming.

Congratulations again on your find!!

Basketball team that plays Veronica is near me in Targu-Mures and that is just 30 km from the hill where I found the ax ;D Romania is a great place with nice people most.I hope in future to be more known and visited by tourists.

Do they have stupid laws there too in Romania, like we have here in Hungary concerning ancient finds??? Are you required to submit these to the proper authorities or can you keep them??

Thanks / Köszönöm drgeorge :icon_thumright:

Is quite strict laws here unfortunately...Any object that has heritage value should be taken to the museum in a time limit...Besides owning a metal detector is quite strict.I heard that the hungarian archaeologists working very well with metal detecting enthusiasts. Here in Romania archaeologists are still quite reluctant about metal detecting enthusiasts...In a sense they are right because there are people who still dream to get rich from selling illegal artifacts and archaeological sites they usually detects...Maybe time will change mentalities...In areas where we have detected recently (Mures county / Maros megye , near Reghin / Szaszregen) archaeologists know me since I found Roman gold ring and other old items last fall and they know that I have nothing to hide. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,356946.html . In fact they were happy when I told them about the objects in this topic and I was along there where I found the bronze ax...
:hello:
