Bronze Roman sesterius

[Corlett]

Hi Guys / Girls

Today I was blessed to find this beauty..

32 mm / 20,0 Grs..

What a whoppper..

I Think this is the correct ID:
Commodus AE Sestertius. 177 AD. IMP L AVREL COMMODVS AVG GERM SARM, laureate, draped & cuirassed bust right / TR P II COS P P, S-C, DE GERM in exergue, two captives seated left and right at foot of trophy.

Nice! Congrats!

[Thommy]

Commodus is the Caesar that was played by Joachim Phoenix in "Gladiator". Commodus' sister engineered a conspiracy against him, so he had her exiled, then executed. He was eventually assassinated after he changed the name of Rome to "Commodiana". Bad guy, cool coin!
