Hi all. My friend found this on his property, a farm that dates back to the 1830s. Brooch? Any thoughts as to age? thumbnail (1).webpthumbnail.webp

Thats a nice find. I am not positive, but I think I'm safe in saying its Victorian Era or earlier.

Might be a vintage sash buckle,
Congratulations to your friend.

Turn of the century. Perhaps a little before or after

That's a nice relic. Thanks for sharing.

thats awesome old looking good find

Depending on where this was found or dug, this could even be a civil war era sash buckle for an officers crimson red sash. Nice piece there. It looks like it could be from the 1850’s or 1860’s.

Very nice find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Interesting you say that, CWF - the property is on Valley Pike several miles south of Martinsburg in the northern Shenandoah Valley. Property's likely to be filled with CW artifacts. Can't wait to hit it myself in the new year!

Hey YALL! How much you think it's worth?

I have been researching this piece for an hour on google images and can't seem to find anything that looks like it.

Very pretty Edwardian sash pin/sash brooch, circa 1900.

You might try looking online at some Sears and Roebuck catalogue jewelry pages for brooches ,circa 1900 -1920 to see what you may find that is close to yours .
