Brown Bess butt plate

Digging in Jamaica near the old Montego Bay fort I dug up a brown bess butt plate. I know a few different models where made and would love to narrow down any history, if possible. Any one know anything about this?

The tang is short - so perhaps a Second or Third Model ("India") Land Pattern
