Made it out for a couple of short hunts. First hunt ended up a total bust, hiked through a swamp for half an hour to get to the site in the park woods. Only thing I found was a truck.

Next site was a homesite off of a walking trail with easy access. Really overgrown with weeds and finding very little til the end of the hunt when I found a small productive pocket on a hill side.

The brooch came out first, then the best find. Buck Rogers Solar Scout pin from the 1930’s or 40’s.

Back says “To my solar scout pal”

This old Carhartt rivet is also interesting.

Says “Organized Labors Friend”

Good luck out there!

Nice finds. That scout pin is an awesome find in real nice shape. Congrats

Well done with the badge. I enjoy that one a lot and the other finds.
I believe you found a 1954 to 1956 dodge truck. Very cool. Maybe some collector parts worth some money.

Congratualtions on the relics! :occasion14:

That Buck Rogers piece would make my day! Wow..THAT'S the kind if stuff I love to dig. Old, patina'd...that design is over the top awesome, and the brooch is great too! I bet your pouch was heavy hauling that truck out! Great stuff, thx for sharing, Ddf.

Man, that Buck Rogers pin is outta-this-world!!!

The Buck Rogers pin is one of my favorite finds. I got mine in a yard in town a few years ago.

Keep swingin.

Thx! I’m not a Buck Rogers expert at all. Not sure if he is holding ray guns or controls for a space ship. I read a bit about the badge, i guess if you ate enough Cream of Wheat you could earn this badge or other fan items. Also, according to the Buck Rogers saga, Buck fell into a coma in a Pittsburgh coal mine and woke up 500 years later. Occasionally I fear falling into a mine subsidence hole or well when detecting an old farm site in the woods around Pittsburgh... I ... may .... be ... Buck... R...

Hi, some nice finds you found there. I have never before seen a Buck Rogers Solar Scout pin, its a awesome find.:icon_thumleft:

Those are some nice relics (truck included) ! Did you explore, to see if there may have been some old coins under the seat ? Or maybe a nice old Hood Ornament ? I like the smaller relics also. Great finds.

I’ll probably hit the first site again once the weeds are down in the Fall and plan on spending some time in the truck. Not as simple as just reaching under the seat and checking for silver coins. Only the rusted solid seat frames remain with a layer of dirt and rust below. Thx!

Love the Buck Rogers pin
Did you check the seat cushions of the truck for money :laughing7:

very cool pin for sure. luv the truck, it still looks pretty solid, would make a great start for a hot rod or a restorer. usually around here, they get shot up LOL.

That Buck Rogers pin is totally neat
