bucket list places

Beach resorts are not as productive as they were years ago. Locals and tourist are hitting all the spots. I just got back from 10 days in Cancun. I have made 6 trips there with my Excal. Every year it gets worse finding big ticket items. This last trip I ran in to 3 people with detectors. 2 locals And 1 tourist. The locals said the same thing it's slow down here and the beach condictions are getting worse. In April I was in Barcelona Spain. My first morning I get to the beach at 7:00 am and i see 2 locals detecting at the beach already. I speak spanish and they said it's slow there also. They Detect for extra income not for the hobby like we do. Cell phones are the big bling items to them. So it seems if you are looking for a beach vacation to detect at some one has already hit that beach . Good luck Joe. Also stay off the Mission Bay beaches during Thanksgiving I,ll be there with the WOT coil to pick up what you have missed Ha. Ha.

Trust me brother,, mission beach is PLAYED OUT! I went there last week with a hunting buddy and I literally started cracking up with laughter.. 5 MD'ers (7 total) nearly ran into ea other and no one wanted to pull away from their grid lines. I said "lets get the %^$# out of here." What a joke! Mind you, they were 75 yr olds with 1985 metal detectors but still.

I work Graveyards 8-6am. I'm about 2 miles from any decent beach and go for about 2-3 hrs ea morning until I get tired and or people start flocking and getting in the way. Right now every beach around here is the same.. Fresh dry sand drops and 99% of that is coinage. Lucky to get a few bucks on a 4 hr hunt. Water conditions as you know in Santa Barbara are prob the same here. Knock you down waves until you're eyeball deep, then its swells to a ft over your head. Anything shallow is pointless due to no erosion.

I often head to OC just to get a change of pace. With the same results usually. I'm looking to get my Scuba cert then I'll be out past and or under the waves.

I think he said Mission Bay, not Mission Beach, but, neither are very good right now. Detecting some parts of Mission Bay is like detecting in a toilet.

Have not nor would I hunt in that bay....

Don't quote me but I believe Ireland detecting is not allowed.
Plus the water would be cold

From what I hear gold is just ok in Japan, platinum is what they all wear.

hmm.. a S Korea trip might be in order

When I was on Bora Bora on my honeymoon, it sure looked inviting! Lots or other honeymooners, so, lots of possible losses. Next time I go back, the detector goes with me! :laughing7:

I think I would like to hunt federally protected civil war beaches. Love the history it's not all about gold to me. But I don't throw it away. Lol.

If I could :

On the beach dry and wet sand of

MONACO
Saint Barthelemy Island (FWI)
Mosquito Island
Anguilla

With those 4 destinations, I will be able to gain "Banner Finds" on TNET every weeks during 50 years!
