Buckle from Civil War Site, Would like details

Really good day today. Buckle from a known Civil War site. Can anyone please identify use? Back says “solid brass”. Would this be Union?

Not suggesting it IS Civil War, but it was found on a site that had a known occupation and was also occupied for years afterward.
