Nice site Tim, thanks, I bookmarked it. Too bad it doesn't get into the newer buckles which everybody finds and asks about.
 

Yes, it's strange that he stopped around 1800. Maybe buckles became more generic after that time, making them tougher to accurately date.

And a note to U.S. diggers. If you're trying to ID a buckle, start at around page 90. We don't find too many buckles before 1700, so checking the first 89 pages is usually a waste of time!
