A Song For All You Coin Lovers
I KirkTN wrote this some years back with Brett Beavers (producer of Dierks Bentley)
Brother John and I recorded it on our album. It's one of my favorite songs I've ever been a part of.

I can remember that old king Edward box that my Daddy hid,
One day he told me it was time that he showed me what’s underneath the lid
He reached up in the closet and out he brought it Yellow and worn at the edge
We sat down together and a poor mans treasure poured out there on the bed
Buffalo Nickels, Indian head pennies,
Silver dollars and liberty dimes
Not too many in mint condition
But they sure made me shine
Cause it was just the two of us
Spendin’ precious time
With Buffalo nickels Indian head pennies
Silver dollars and liberty dimes.
Last January it really scared me that night I got the call,
Mama was cryin’ said your Daddy’s fightin’ but the doctors don’t give him long
Somethin’ told me to stop at home and I got that box and away I sped.
There’ in Saint Thomas he was weak but conscious when I poured out on his bed.
Repeat chorus:
Today’s his birthday he’d’ve been sixty three,
Been almost a year now since he left mom and me
And I feel my heart breakin’ through the cemetery gates
And I feel him awaken when I sit down by his grave.
Repeat chorus:
