Hey folks, some of you may not recognize me as there are quite a few new hunters to this site and I don't post much, simply because nobody cares about a 40% here, a 90% there, and a bunch of skunks in-between.

Mixed in with this week's 3 skunk boxes of halves was a very neat agricultural token that says on the obverse, "THE PITTS AGRICULTURAL WORKS -- BUFFALO N.Y. 1851" with a picture of a buffalo on it!
The reverse says, "BUFFALO PITTS -- ENGINES THRESHERS -- 1895", so I would assume that the token is from 1895.

I told a fellow member, Avago, about my find and after some research, he sound a link to the company's website, check it out! Buffalo Pitts

If anyone has any other information on the token, I would appreciate it... Enjoy and HH!

Now that's a neat find!

Rulau's United States Tokens book lists it as #Buf 104. The one he pictures is also holed, so that is apparently as it was made. His book values it at $15. in Very Fine condition.

Interesting! Does the hole look similar to that of the one pictured in your book?

Awesome find man. Even if its not worth a ton, the 'treasure hunt' factor on that one is huge

Neat to see the pics! Never know what you'll find in a roll, that's for sure. Definitely an interesting piece of history.

Pretty cool, and could possibly turn a profit for you. Nice find.

How could BuffaloBoy ever sell a Buffalo Pitts token with the picture of a Buffalo on it?? :laughing7:

Nice find BB glad to see a post from an old timer. Seems like one of those "meant to be finds."

Thanks all, I do not intend to sell this piece, it has some nice history behind it... I guess I am kind of a history buff ;)

Very nice token BB. Thanks for showing it.
