Button and Buckle

I have looked in many place trying find out what these are. No definite answer. I am wondering if the button is pedestrian. The buckle is I believe some sort of mule halter snap with the snap not attached. Tell me what you guys think. Thanks

Hope someone can identify your buckle. I have found two and posted previously. I had some good input but no definite ID.

Spats, thanks for the sharing the link to your previous "what is this". While there is some CW activity in the area, I think it has more to do with a mule plow halter. There is what is called a snap on the halter. The swivel snap part is missing. I just cant figuire out what the smooth flaired corners are. Thanks

Thanks rick67. I have looked at a lot button pics. Cannot find a pic of this button. If you have a pic or something in a book, could you post or steer me in the right direction. Much appreciation.

Ok I think I identified the button as a Union Naval button. US Navy Bayonets, Buttons, in Civil War of 1812 American Revolution Spanish American naval artifacts, Navy Militaria THis button was found in NC. Interesting.
