Not sure excactly what this button is. Two piece with eagle. military? Good luck everyone !

That particular version of US Army "eagle button" was introduced in 1854 and in service until what collectros call the "Indian Wars version" was introduced in 1875. It differs from other versions in having a lined "spade shield" with no letter. It was made for the use of Enlisted-men's ranks (Private, Corporal, Sergeant). From 1854 onward, only Officer buttons had a letter in the shield.
