Button, button, whos got the button

[RickyP]

Just now getting around to posting some finds from last week. Found quite a few buttons in a centralized area last weekend and a few other items, but no coins. They were surprisingly shallow in this area, couldnt figure out why until I tried to dig a deeper target. The ground at five inches was rock solid. I mean to the point that a shovel would just scrape off of it instead of cutting it. Several one piece buttons, three round ones and a two piece eagle holding an anchor button without the backing. Found one unusual item that appears to be a winder for a music box or something. It has cupid on one side of it and what appears to be a flower vase on the other. Also found what appears to be a fired musket ball that has a small square cloth pattern embedded on the flat side side of the bullet. Dont know if its from the patch or what, but cant get a good enough pic of it to show ya'll. Also got a couple of whatizit Pics.

Does anyone know at what point they started making and quit using one piece buttons?
