Start with this. Yours looks like 1760 - 1785. Of course, these are ballpark years...

I agree with Matt, a late-18thc cast pewter button with what looks to be a brass ring through the eye loop. :thumbsup:
Is there anything on the face or is it blank?

Thanks for the replies. The front is plain. I've been searching this property for 20 years, still pulling stuff out of it. A couple of hundred acres, that little button was hiding out.

Agreed 18th C but to me it looks like a home made one, the pewter looks like its closer to a pure Lead, so some kind of heavy lead-alloy. The shank doesn't look like the normal manufacturing of these.
