Its a civilian button often called a modern blazer button, generic design, brass, self shank type with a steel back. Still made today but yours may be 20-70 years old. A kid probally lost it off his blazer. Minimal value if any. But its more interesting than finding a zincoln for sure.

The 2 piece steel back self shanks date in the second half of the 20th century.
