Button Help and a Lead pencil?

I found this button a week or so back but can't find any info on the maker. It reads "G. Hobson & Co. 148 Regent St." And the thin lead piece is what I believe to be a crude lead pencil. It does write on certain types of paper

Wonder if it has anything to do with this:

Lead stylus. Used by stone masons to mark out stone. They have been used for many hundreds of years, so near impossible to date.

Most of the time when we see those type buttons, we usually call them fly or pants buttons. Guess they could be used on most anything.
