Hello All,

I dug this button (I think it’s an button)over the summer and I’m finally getting around to identifying it. I attached a picture which was the closest I could get to identifying it. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I’m going to say it’s a diplomatic service button. Tice only had 1 in his book, Albert’s had a dozen. No exact matches, but close enough. If it is a one piece guessing pre 1850. Nice find.

I am assuming that button is fairly thick? Looks like a shank attachment on back, but odd to see a pressed one-piece. Can you post a pic that show thickness?

This button is not in Albert's, it is a Patriotic button (1850"s). I dug the same one and size, it was shown to me in a reference book of Patriotic buttons.

Thanks for the images Ncsuwolf. I attached another pic. This button is very thin - I’d say stamped. It’s very close to the images you sent but not an identical match. I think that there are 20 6 pointed stars around the circumference. Thanks for the help
