This button is about the size of a nickel. Flat on the front and says "London" on the back with 3 stars. Where can I find the age? 1410186349302.webp

Nice find! I'm not a button expert, but I'll give you my opinion. I would say it was made around the 1810 to 1840 era.

Your picture is a little dark ,so I brightened it up a bit so others can view it and give their opinion on this button.

My wife has several examples of the ubiquitous tombac button and, if made from a single flat disc of metal, they probably date from around 1800-1840 as Tim suggests. Firmin and Sons were the principal London manufacturers, but there were others.

Brass 1-piece "flatbuttons" first start showing up with a RAISED-lettering backmark (like yours) about 1790. So, I'd add 20 years onto the front end of the 1810-to-1840 timeperiod FreeBirdTim gave you. I should mention, his estimate of 1810-to-1840 is correct for brass 1-piece flatbuttons with INDENTED lettering.

I see you are a brand-new member here at TreasureNet, so... welcome to T-Net's "What Is It?" forum, the best place on the internet for getting the CORRECT identification (and time-period) of historical relics.
