Found this while detecting an old foundation, anyone have any ideas. I'm hoping to determin the time frame the house was used.

My first thought was that it is a button for a uniform used by a marching band. What's on the back of the object?

Cant tell much from the picture, but has a brass stem with another flat section. Looks like it may be a cufflink now that I think about it.

Gypsy, how do you know when I'm typing! ::)

Yep... it's an International Harvester Company lapel button. This particular style of the IHC monogram was registered in 1920 and remained in use until around 1945-50, when it was replaced by a block letter "IH" design.

Cool, now I have an excuse to go out and buy me that scout I wanted. Think this line will work??

"But honey, darlin, sugerplum I have this cool old button that stands for International Harvester and since they made the scout, it must be a sign from the all mighty above to go ahead and get that 67 scout"

Thanks guys I don't know why i didn't think of International.
