Button, Spoon, and Piece of Brass (Stirrup Part?)

Went out today to an old property I've visited for many years. Pickings were slim, partly due to how many times the area has been hit and how hard the ground was from the cold. Managed to find a single flat button. It appears to say "Double Gilt" on the back. Also dug what looks like a spoon bowl and a piece of brass. I was hoping someone here could ID it for me. Whatever it is, it rang in the 80s on the AT Pro. Thanks for the assistance.

Bottom of a stirrup... more than likely anyway.
Thanks for the quick reply. I actually had the same thought initially, but I decided it probably wasn't a stirrup due to how small it is. Hopefully my hand in the pictures gives some idea of scale. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this though. I'm by no means an expert.

(Edit) Just saw the picture you posted, and now I'm 90% convinced you're right. It's just the size that bothers me. It seems very small for a stirrup.

They were made in several sizes... remember ... younger people also ride horses.... heh
Fair enough. Thanks again very much for your help. I should also add there was some Civil War activity that went on at this location. You've gotten me excited that this thing could be military issue for some small-footed soldier. Regardless of whether or not it's civilian, this is definitely a great end of the year piece in my opinion.

I have also some reservations regarding the size.
I've looked a few times at the pictures of you tilting the said piece, but humour me for a bit and measure it.
Though it sure looks like it could be part of one.

Measuring the inner length (labelled In your diagram as E) my piece is approximately 2.5 inches. The width (labelled as D) is about 1.25 inches. That is definitely smaller than the "youth" size stirrups described in your chart.
