Button with winged soldier slaying griffin

Hi all. I found this button/pin in a 1900 era bottle pit. It’s about the size of a half dollar and made of brass or copper. On the front there’s a design that looks like a soldier or angel with wings carrying a sword and shield, standing above a slain beast. There were some bits of thread stuck to the back when I found it so it may have been cloth backed. Any more info would be much appreciated. Thanks and happy hunting
