I'll take your word for the fact that it is a modern reproduction without size info or pic of the back.I found one much like it.At a modern snowboarding area,surface find.

No need for a better photo of the back of that Virginia State Seal button. I recognized it immediately as a modernday repro, made by Waterbury Companies Inc. for civil war battle re-enactors. I've got some of the exact same button on one of my old re-enacting jackets.
