Today I could find only 8 coins. Five of them were scrappies (Crusader's definition :laughing9:) but still it was an amazing day.

Probably; BYZANTINE. BRONZE 1/2 FOLLIS. JUSTIN II AND SOPHIA, THESSALONICA, 565-578 AD.

I couldn't clean it better

In this area there are a few little hills and today I hit another one. Getting closer to the top of this hill I found the first of this beautiful broochs or pendants, whatever they are.

This bronze bell seems too big and heavy for a sheep. Maybe for a cow!

This is some mixed stuff

Today was very windy and because of a strong headache I had to stop. With the broken heart I turned of the machine and headed to my car.
Who knows when I can get back there!
The funny thing is that the landlord is not interested in any of these. He's interested only on gold and in that case we agreed for 30%.
This three days hunt will be unforgettable.
Best wishes
Vince.

Blown away Vince. Not much more to say. :occasion14:

Love the socketed iron point (the raised rib extension of the socket into the tip is interesting) and the horse or hippokampos monster fibula, very interesting finds!

Nice Hunt! Thanks for sharing :icon_thumleft:

Vince, what can I say!?...about the time I think you can't outdo yourself...you kill it!! The brooch...pendants...the coins...and THAT RING...Ddf.

Thanks. This one was about 25-30 cm and gave a high tone until it was out. Screenshot_2018-03-05-07-07-13.webp

Vince,
Hope you can get back to that site soon--and next time bring a tent, food and a sleeping bag.
Don........

Sure I will :) .
Instead of sleeping bag the headlight. No time for sleeping. :laughing9:

Thanks buddy. I don't know what to say too. It was fortune, it was my persistence! I was on the right place!

The first looks like marcus aurelius

The larger Roman coin depending on size & weight is either a Sestertius or As but I am sure it is an ANTONINUS PIUS (AD 138-161). I can see ]TRP COS II or III and his is the only head style that fits that obverse end combination from all the other Emperors possible namely: Aelius (No bronze with that ending), Hadrian (legend text far too short for his), Galba, Nerva, Titus & Vespasian (all busts nowhere near comparable).

Not sure about the Reverse type as would need to see in hand or get some more of the crud removed if that were possible without losing current Patina.

You're right Cru! Its Antonius Pius. This is the second of this type. I have posted the first on an earlier thread. I'm not sure if its bronze cause it doesn't have a nice patina. Its more like a dirty red coin! Roman emperor Antonius Pius (138-161 A.D.), depicted on ancient Roman coin (bronze, denom/type: As) (As. Obverse: ANTONIUS AVG PIUS PP. Reverse: TR POT COS II SC PAX (exergue). PAX stg left., holding branch and cornucopiae.)

Man those are some outstanding finds, not only the coins but also the figurines and "fibulas?" You are in such a good area, hunt the **** out of it and appreciate every moment!

Spectacular finds
Congrats

The symbol on the ring looks like this letter
