Anyone ever hear about the story of an Indian brave who approached a Spanish priest to come with him and help the Indian Chiefs son using white mans medicine? The priest was blindfolded going there, but once he got to the destination, the blindfold was removed. The Chiefs son had a broken leg, which the priest set. The priest was once again blindfolded and returned back to the Caddo Gap area, loaded down with all the wealth he could hold. He didn't have a clue where he went, or how he got back, but once he returned to New Orleans, La., he wrote down his story, and the story is supposed to be in the New Orleans Archives. Has anyone else ever heard this story besides me? Anyone have any information about finding this story in the archives of New Orleans, era 1500-1600?

Be fun to research

I can believe the story.
Was just in Caddo Gap back in June.
Beautiful place with a Rich and Storied History.
There is a Cool Statue to Hernando Desoto there.
The whole time I was there i was imagining how much Spanish Gold there must be just waiting to be found..

Go thru there at least once a month, beautiful area and with lots of stories too but I don't reckon that I ever heard that one

Good resource for Arkansas and that area. I have searched that entire region expensively and have only found indian artifacts and crystals over the past 30 years. The beauty of the area makes the looking worth it, win or lose!

Interesting, thank you for sharing! :occasion14:
