Calling All Army Dawgies - When and Where did you go to Boot camp.

Ft. Dix April 1977 in B-2-3. Never forget a chubby guy who got in trouble with the DI and the DI closed the door to his office to "straighten him out". He was transferred to another company where within 15 minutes he kicked in the double glass doors and was taken away for mental evaluation. My DI's favorite game was "flood"! Upon yelling flood, you had to be 6' off the ground...period. What fun!

Beautiful sunny southern California...NOT!! Ft. Ord, California, June 1970...A-2-1. I'm from southern Oregon where it is snowy and cold every winter....I just about froze my azz off in foggy cold Ft. Ord. AIT was 713th Maint. Co., Ft. Lewis, WA. Then back home to Co.B/1/186th Inf., NG. Memories and faces I will never forget....SDI Meno....built like a fireplug....1st Cav.

D 1-19 Fort Benning, GA 1998.

Up on Tank Hill, right along Drag-Ass hill in B-3-1, Ft. Jackson SC. Got to the reception center on 7/5/77, 1st day at basic was 7-7-77. I still remeber Drill Sgt Redd, we were his 18th cycle that won both honor platoon and were the drill competition winners.

"B" is for Bravo,
"B" is for the best
We will prove it by the test,
No task too difficult,
No mission too great,
Duty - Honor - Country

I remember drag-ass hill very well , in 1969

Ft. Lost In The Woods, 1986 A-2-3 Blacksheep. AIT Ft. Rucker class 87-14 67V.

OMG, January 1968 Fort Knox KY, Echo 17-5...who can forget Agony and Misery hill...that long march to the ranges.....a damn measles outbreak followed by a bunch of folks getting Mono.....then off to AIT at Fort Sill..all hell broke loose when Martin Luther King was killed....first riot on a base that I ever heard of....but..the Artillery was still much better than walking everywhere. The funny thing was I always looked up at those damn helicopters flying over....many years later I was flying over in Hueys...always loved giving guys on the ground a ride.....a great 32 year career.

I wanted to fly choppers when I was in but just never tried and to this day I regret that. I spent time at Knox but did basic and ait at ft McClellan. I was an mp spent most of my time either overseas or deployed. I wouldn't trade my exp but wish I would have tried to get into flight school. Anyway thanks for your service everyone.

Where were you a cid agent at? I worked with the cid on the dst team in Furth Germany from 91-93

Missed me by 10 years. I was in Hanau Germay 1981-1983. That was my first assignment fresh out of CID school.

Great group of guys I worked with and I loved it over there.

During Basic Training on the first visit to the PX the Drill Sergeant told us if we tried to steal anything EL CID would catch us.
