The site my son and I are digging has yielded 4 of these so far.
Any idea how old they are?

Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR

Can you post pics with a reference? They look like the cheep hand tools for a adjustable wrench.

Sure .. here you go.. I think they are too small and light duty for wrenches.

No .. Sorry .. No candles .. "The Wrench Stole Christmas" along with all the candles.
Maybe candle holders, though! :laughing7:

This is not exact, but close. This is a pic of a WWI mess kit. Like I said, not exact but maybe a lead.

Re: Can anybody date these - pre 1914 knife handles

Those are late 1800's military mess knives or forks, it's hard to tell. Look how the handle is wider at the end compared to the WW1 kit. The also had sharper ridges around the handle.

Here are some that I have. The 1904 and 1917 are not steel handled.

That would be consistent with the date range for the other relics we found there. Thanks very much!

Its an old British comedy sketch, guy goes into a store & asks for '4 Candles' but gets a response from the shop keeper of 'Fork Handles' ???

Hilarious Cru! :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:
