This was found in a box of old coins in my attic. I don't know anything about it. Even went to civil war and coin forums.

It could be some sort of button or slide piece to a bolo. That isn’t a confederate coin

That's what I thought but it was strange that it said"one cent" but I can't find anything like it.

Maybe is was at one time functioned as a cuff-link?
