Hi I'm trying to find out the origins of this fork (attached pic) found in English soil, am I right to think this is gold? Or is there any other metals stamped this way? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Please describe the four marks as shown;thanks.
Are they all letters or mixed letters with other images?
Don..
Hi Don it's hard to make out it looks like 695,then 22, a lion, then a fork or top of a crown, but not sure though

If is gold ,it would be one expensive fork!...is it not made from silver? ...you should be able to google the hallmarks

965 looks to be a gold grading stamp, however the lion stamp is associated with silverware....stumped

Now you just have to figure out which one is yours.

Are you sure its not stamped 925?

False alarm everyone! i also sent a picture to an antiques dealer i know and he said straight away its a toasting fork,it should say EPNS but its hard to make out as its worn.... it certainly got my heart rate going though. wish it was gold but thanks for the help anyway much appreciated, paul
