Can anyone help me identify this. Found on a site near Morlais Castle built in 1282 by Gilbert de Clare ( the red ). And destroyed in 1286 in a battle ( Maes y Faenor ) between de Clare and Humphry de Bohn. ( The Barrons Wars ) there are a couple of photos below if they help. Thanks Les

Wow 1282 that's crazy I don't ever recall seein anything quite as old keep them coming sorry I don't know what it is there's a spot on this sight that has helped me out in I d in items

Lol yeah or a spinning top, I think posting it in "What is it?" section will get more expert opinions maybe. Some of the members are really good at IDing weird things.

Looks like a golf or track spike
 

I was thinking some sort of an old type of fastener, like a rivet. Might be associated with chain mail or if a rivet then with a suit of armor and the chain pump is a possibility as well but again as a form of fastening something to something else, or something like that. :hello: So, it looks like you were Out and About with you machine!...................63bkpkr
