I dont use leather and I bought a new set of Garrett Master Sound headphones for around $25.00 and to my surprise... they have leather all over them so I'm selling them.
The killer b's also have lamb skin.

I've been considering KOSS QZ-99 for their price. The nugget busters and the jolly rogers also looked cool and very compact but bu on the pricey side and I'm not sure what the material on them is. Maybe I'll just use the Apple earbuds For now.

Can anyone that uses these chime in?

Thank you.

I seriously doubt they're using leather unless it's stated. Are you sure it's not synthetic ?

Yeah I thought so too, it's says leather right on the box. And online it says "Leather headband and ear cushions for comfort"

The Jolly Rogers I had did not sound that good. I use Grey Ghosts Ultimates and Bushmasters an both have a good sound.

Calrad Headphones. Just google 'em. :occasion14:

BTW welcome to the forum

I would be very surprised if that was real leather, mine feel like synthetic leather and that's what I would expect them to be. Very strange. Maybe invest in Deteknix Wirefree then? I'm receiving mine today.

I have been a vegan for 8 years and I get tired of reading/hearing all of these oh so creative comments from omnivores. This person wasn't asking for you to try and sway them toward the side of meat eating and animal cruelty.. they're just asking for recommendations on headphones. It was my hope that people in this forum where more laid back and open minded, but it seems I may be wrong.

On the inexpensive headphones... As Terry mentioned, Calrad. The model that has a standard 1/4" angled plug, coiled cord, dual volume control and mono/stereo switch, is Calrad # 15-135b. They're about $25 + shipping, and they work just fine. They are not quite as sensitive on weak signals, nor are they quite as comfortable as the more expensive detector headphones. My son uses those Calrads with his Compadre. ^_^

I'm staying out of this one. I like being on treasurenet and not starting a argument

SO... Which headphones did the OP decide on getting..?

:tongue3:

I think my Garretts are leather or at least pleather and sure are so much more comfortable and sound better than the Grey Ghosts Amphibians

So did the poster ever say why they don't want leather? Is it animal rights? Allergy? They don't like the look/feel? I highly doubt real leather is used on any of these headphones...

osity, I highly recommend you read our rules.... Your a new member so you get a little leeway but please do not repeat... We have rules on language and substituting characters for letters to bypass language censor still violates our rules...

I'm like 90% sure the Garrett headphones that come with my at pro are synthechic leather....

Let's not be smug and pretend that the OP was not baited. The first page of comments is ridiculous by post 8 or 9. Even by post #6 he is having his morals questioned by none other than JG. Hilarious!

Here is a thought to entertain. Just maybe the OP lives by certain standards and simply does not feel the need to shovel those standards onto others. In other words...the opposite of what happened in this thread.

Seems like a perfectly valid reason to resell the headphones to recoup some $$.

Bottom line is he asked a simple question...and the simple minded participants could not resist poking fun and testing their limits on how far they could push the issue. Seems pretty one way to me...not that I advocate his breaking the forum rules.

Topic is headphones, not vegetarian. Put thread back on topic.
