Can someone give me any ideas as to what this could be?

. This was found in Vicksburg, MS while metal detecting near a old hospital. It is metal and about 6 inches long. It is thicker on the straight end/ left side of picture and gets thinner as it goes towards the pointed end / right side of picture. Does anyone have any idea as to whast this could be ? thanks for your help.

I got a chuckle when I saw this... I have an identical half in my tank as we speak. Mine has a nail still hanging in, probably a thrown shoe. Even broken in half it is still a cool find, I therefore am cleaning mine up and should look pretty good.....for half a shoe. But for me, I like em.
