hey all,,
im just trying to learn to read hallmarks and i think i got this one . i just want to know if i am correct .
to me it looks like the maker is Deakin & Francis, anchor= tested in Birmingham. lion= sterling and the x= 1972 am i right?

ok i thought it might be but didnt think this spoon would be this old, did they make the miniature collector spoons then?
 
I just know hallmarks - nothing about spoons
you can try contacting Birmingham office about it
 
The Assay office only confirm the item is what its claimed to be but the company that produced your spoon is still run by the Deakin family and if you look up their web site you could e-mail them a picture. Most of these old established companies are very good at providing information.
