Help me out. Is this in the mountain west (Colorado or Montana area)?

I have an idea. I interpret it as showing it means “beneath the large M”.
I’m thinking of 2 different situations, one near Golden, Colorado and the other near Bozeman, Montana. I’m leaning toward the Colorado solution at this time. 👍🏼

Are you saying this is an early McDonald sign?
Beneath the golden arches?

Sorry, bad joke.
I apologies

I am seriously not trying to joke here, it's uncanny, it looks like the front end of a 1940s tricycle wheel tractor, even shows cleats on the tires.

I can see what you mean potsherd_creek dead ringer even to the steering wheel and exhaust stack WOW... Maybe someone parked a tractor under that craving yeah like maybe "TRACTOR 13"

There we go, Case VAC-13, manufactured '42-55, you can see the outline of the barn at the edges of photo. Sorry, I do not believe any Spanish gold Georgieb.

Playing devil’s advocate for a moment:
What if it is a double cipher? What if it looks like the front end of said tractor, but there is a deeper, 2nd meaning?
Wouldn’t be the first time that a clue had a double meaning. 🤔

Between the 2 objects that look like tires under something (the steering wheel) 13 feet down an arrow the front tires. lol. There’s always another way to interpret something. Could probably come up with a lot of ways to read it and that’s why I’m no good at this stuff. To many options leads you nowhere but questioning everything. “The what if game”
