Canadian cents

Me and my daughter went thur 2 boxes of cents yesterday and today. Out of these two boxes we keep 53 Canadain cents. We keep everything that was 84 and older. Here is the break down

1940's 2
1950's 2
1960's 16
1970's 14
1980's 19

total of 53 Canadian cents

She wanted keep these to see how many different ones she can get. Looks like we did pretty good......Matt

that's a lot of Canadian cents from just 2 boxes - but just curious why you only keep pre-'85's and not all copper pre-'97's?

I didn't know the 86's and 87's was copper. Now I know. Thanks......Matt

I think all Canadian cents pre-'97 are 98% copper but they kept changing the size of the coin so that's why there are so many different values. The pre-'80 cents are worth the most because the coins were a little larger.
