Canyon of the ancients

Went and checked out the Holly group near Hovenweep early this a.m., while it was only about 80 degrees. These structures were in the area of a spring, which would be a plus in this area. Coolest thing, I spotted a mano right off the trail. I recognized it right away, and I expect surely a few have too in the past, and cool some tourist didn't pick it up and take home.

I've never been over to Hovenweep yet, but been all around it and really enjoy being in that area. How closely did you inspect that stone? Looks like a Mano?

It was a mano, tr. Even Maria recognized it for one. They don't want you steppin off the marked trails and they sure don't want you picking anything up, so I just took a pic.

Indeed you don't what that in your hand walking around a place like that. Odd that was never picked up by someone already. Guess no one recognized it for what it is.
