This beautiful schooner which starred in the 1965 film A HIGH WIND IN JAMAICA was built in Ipswich, Mass. 1940 by Wm A Robinson, and designed by Howard I. Chapelle. She is the leftmost vessel in the image below.
Recent research about the schooner (I am seeking a set of lines and construction drawings by Chapelle), anecdotal evidence, and a review of her ownership history tells us she was changed to British registry when purchased by Boudreau in 1954, and...
that her submerged but visible, dismasted hull was seen in shallow water off Honduras (date uncertain) by the owner of a NY Seaplane Base, Carl Evers who was also a wreck diver apparently.
Because Boudreau operated her in his Windjammer Fleet in the Caribbean, a stronger possibility is that the wreck was off Jamaica (location unknown).
If anyone has knowledge of this "wreck" please let me know.
