Carried this 50+ pound rock up out of a creek !!

I’ve hunted rocks in your area for many yrs. From Grafton all the way up the river valley margins to Griggsville. It’s mostly limestone and flint. Tons of Indian artifacts, fossils in limestone, and great geodes. I should have moved over there yrs ago!

Found this petrified wood on small creek in Missouri while artifact hunting, rolled it a hundred yards to roadside where truck was but found it was too heavy to even lift, had to hide it in ditch and go get help to get it in truck. It weighs 300 lbs if it weighs an ounce.

Also found this, on left side of petrified rock..Pieces of chert been knocked off of it on all sides but bottom which has the cortex till attached. About the size of a volleyball.

Depleted core.
