:icon_pirat: Okay, This was found behind the old homestead. The house was built before 1900 and until it burned down last week was the family homestead. I found this sometime around 1982 and it got put away and forgotten about. I was going through some boxes on-board our boat as I get it ready to sell and run across this again.
A little background on the house. It was used many years as several different businesses among which were an early garage 1912 or earlier, a radio repair shop 1920' into the late 1930's, many years as a home, a buggy repair shop and several later business locations. I have found many artifacts and remnants of life in the 20Th century. But what is this? It is made of what appears to be aluminum or white metal yet I have no idea as to the age or what it is off of. Can you help?

Yup, he definately nailed it.... a Radiator Tag like that is worth quite a bit of money to a old car collector, I know a few guys that is all they collect, old shields, emblems, and porcelain car tags.. even with that minor bit of damage it still will be worth quite a bit I think.

The Cartercar was an American automobile manufactured in 1905 in Jackson, Michigan, in 1906 in Detroit, and from 1907 to 1915 in Pontiac, Michigan.

Interesting trivia:
Tragedy struck when Byron Carter was killed in 1908 while trying to start a stalled car; the crank kicked back and hit him in the jaw, causing gangrene which ultimately proved fatal. Carter was a personal friend of Cadillac founder Henry Leland, and his unfortunate death prompted development of the Self-Starter (introduced in 1912), the first successful motor vehicle electric starting system, eliminating the dangerous crank.
