I was looking through some of my old stuff and found this button. The "Scovill MF'G CO Waterbury" backmark dates it from 1850-1860. This took a little skill and a sharp knife.

FOR REAL!
Much Skill / Patience & a Sharp Knife.

I don't think they had "Exact o" knifes back then. lol

I think the eagle was removed to be used in a piece of jewelry or trench art and the button was discarded.

That is one cool carved button for sure. This would be welcomed in any relic collection. It was,amazing what some of these soldiers could do out In the field.
