Carved dogs head?????

Hi all, people here who know me know that I love to find carved bullets, and have a pretty good collection. I found this on a site awhile back were I have found carved lead in the past but I'm not sure about this piece. Could just be a fired bullet. Looks like a dogs head, what's your thoughts?? Maybe just wishful thinking.

Looks like a purposely altered lead slug to me. I can see how it was pounded down and over and then further shaped to an image of a dog head imo.
