Yep, platinum. I recently sold 5 small converters for $200 on eBay.
Some of the foreign cars use rhidium along with platinum. It make platinum look cheap at over 6k/ounce. Platinum is over $2300/ounce.

It is possible, with the right knowledge and caution, to refine pure platinum out of catalytic converters. It is dangerous, doable and worthwhile if you can swing it.
