Caution bicycle safety

One time I saw a pedestrian get hit on the down side of a one way street. A car was turning and was only looking at where the traffic was coming from. He was an older guy no doubt broke some bones.

I was struck by a car traveling at high speed. Lost a few hours of memory that day. Don’t advise it.

My ‘41 Schwinn. No motor.😊

Regardless of traffic laws, bike lanes, "share the road", etc. ... bicycles & autos are a potentially lethal combination, & a really bad idea / agenda. Way too many distracted drivers behind the wheel & handlebars ... here's a bit of ROAD MATH: 3000# vehicle @40MPH meets 175# cyclist @ 10MPH = 1 less cyclist. Don't let your tombstone read: "Well, I had the right of way ..." ... find safer places to ride your bike ...

Yes, many times cars have passed me then make a right turn and cut me off. Most people use their turn signal but many do not. So you have to watch out for cars.

Also driving in the bike lane cars at the stop sign to your right cannot always see you. A bright headlight and flashing tail light save accidents from happening. Don’t ride without them! Stay alert!
