What is up T-Net friends:hello:
Got out to a monster chimney cellar i hit a while back..Tough rooty wet terrain at this site i stayed way in the back walled
sections of this site where i believe the starter cabin was..Old covered well way in the back and a square hump with iron etc..
This is an early site as it did not even make an 1855 map.The house was huge with a 8 foot wide center chimney..
First target was a
Full Colonial buckle:headbang:
Then i nabbed a KG coppa.
Tombac

An absolutely monster what i think is a Rosette..53mm and gorgeous gilt lead backed:headbang:
Convex shaped with a Tudor Rose?

Anyone know what the iron hook was with the ball on the end?

Gorgeous out there i got a late start and put in 4 hours:icon_thumleft:

Blaze you're blazing the way to the spring and kicking arse. That rosette is phenomenal and who doesn't like a KG2? My favorite it the complete buckle - those never get old. Outstanding finds buddy!!
Steve

Beautiful buckle find! Congratulations. :occasion14:

I see cellar holes like that every day here in North Scituate. Unfortunately, they're all on Providence Water Supply Board land! The worst part is they're just a few feet from the road and I drive by them all the time! Not worth getting arrested over, though.

It's funny how they let hunters shoot deer on the reservoir land, but they'll arrest you if you try to metal detect on their land. They claim the deer are harming the forest by eating too much. What a crock...

You had a busy 4 hours JB!!! Some very cool finds & I love that rosette. WTG, Q.

The buckle and the rosette are both top-notch-center-of-the-display-case finds my man

Good looking stuff there JB. Hope someone identifies that hook. I would like to know too:icon_thumright:

Man, that's a long wall. When I lived up in the Boston area even newer houses had stone walls but down here in Virginia I don't think I've ever seen one. I was even thinking about building one one time and watched a few YouTube videos but it looks like it would be backbreaking and would take forever.

Outstanding finds as usual JB. The complete buckles never get old and you're right, that rosette is a monstah!

WOW I love that kind of buckle! I don't know what that hook is, I do know I have found a couple and threw them away not knowing what they are? lol
That would insure yours is a very valuable relic that everyone else has been looking for half there career detecting! lol

Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Man o man... that shoe buckle is just killer. WOW.

Sweet hunt JB  Complete shoe buckles are the best and that's a really nice one. Like the rosette and KG too man. Great hunt.

Your hook with a ball, looks like my hook with a loop. Cant help with the ID, but I'm interested to hear what people say about it.

That rosette is great. I wonder if the outer part is tombac material.

Your threads with views of the sites are the best on here.
