Cellar hole hunt with Heavymetalnut gets 2 Batwing style buckles

Found some new cellar holes today we just had to get permission to hunt the land,that took up a good 2 hours we finally got the permission and off we went.We didnt have much time to hunt but i still managed to find these 2 buckles,the big one rang out solid quarter but it was to big for a quarter so i dug an extra big hole,i glad i did out popped this buckle first one this size and complete.

right around 1800 is my guess

Those are awesome. I have 3 just like them. Always thought they were 1700's but I think early 1800's, as is the consensus.

I think the buckles are actually older than 1800, I just found a batwing and your variety today at a colonial spot. http://metaldetectingworld.com/photogalary/buckels/pages/B2.htm
