CELLAR HOLES*COPPER & BROKE A NICE CROTAL BELL :O(

saturdays hunt didn't yield very much.a silvered flat button no shank and a large victorian cherub button.some cool shaped mushrooms and a humongous tree!

Sundays hunt went with members from the friendly forum.tattou and fast frank and their freind Greg. alot of shell casings a small colonial shoe buckle frame,a 1831 matron head large cent,a few wheaties and clad and while digging a nice signal under a root i think my shovel tip went into the slot of the crotal bell without realizing it and while i was prying up i heard..TINK! too bad cuz it was a nice one.the other large piece was in another area and not from the same bell.same style and size.
a real nice hunt and a pleasure to finally meet those guys and do a hunt together.we got drenched in a downpour to end the day.

Dwayne, I was in upstate NY for 6 months finishing Nuclear prototype and it seemed like every site was pounded out and pounded out again After 30-40 hunts I ended up with 2 well-worn half reales and maybe 5 large cents. I know what you mean unfortunately...

Anyway, nice hunt there HMN, you are among the best site-picture-takers on Tnet.. I love looking at your posts everytime just to see the nice stonework and gigantic trees Keep adding the good stuff to the collection.. very nice buckle too

You always find the sweet spot at those cellar holes. I have all but given up on the ones arround me. I mainly concentrate on the older farms and the fields.
Do you think that you could super glue the bell back together

Too bad about the bell because it's pretty uncommon to find a big marked one like that. That having been said, better to smoke a bell than something..... good.

Nice bell, Ive wondered , what is the ball inside made of. I have found two intact bells and pieces of others.

Nice bell, Ive wondered , what is the ball inside made of. I have found two intact bells and pieces of others.

the ball is made of iron.it's in my hand with bell
