The Museum of Native American Artifacts could use your help! We are in need of a few point types to fill in the gaps. I have made a list of point types needed, and you can download it from HERE. I made this list a while back, and really need to update it. Some of these types we already have, but more (or better) examples are needed. Some of them are very obscure, and they are color coded for priority - red coloration being the most needed, then yellow, etc. Authenticity is a must on the points. They will be used to help educate the public on types, so needless to say, it's preferred that they be classic examples of the type. We don't expect you to give away the points (but donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated!!).

David Bogle built the museum and it's located in Bentonville, Arkansas. It is non-profit and its sole purpose is to help educate the public and our future generations about our nations wonderful past. This is your chance to help a wonderful project. Come drop by if you ever get in Northwest Arkansas, it's free of charge!

I tried it also Matt, and I think the link is broke. John

Ok Matt that one worked. Looks like you dont need any of my Mid west points, or I sure would have sent you some. Maybe some of these others guys, gals can help you out. John

Yup, there's even some from your area John. I REALLY need to break the types up into regions. There's alot of point types on there that people from those areas even aren't familiar with.

There's also alot on that list that we won't mess with, they are far too obscure and location specific.

Matt send me a list. I'll send you some personal find points. I am all about educating people. I would send you some good examples. John

Thanks John! Sure appreciate it guy. Will do.

Matt

I seem to be having trouble with the link though I see John was able to access it. Is the link still valid? I am on a Mac.
Thanks

The link in my second post should work TN. If it doesn't work for you, email me at scallorn@gmail.com and I'll email you a copy of it.

Thanks

What NC points do you need? I live in the Sandhills and almost all mine are local.

There are points from all over needed on the list, even NC and the Piedmonts area (such as Appalachia, Haw River, Iddens, etc). Some of the names you may not be very familiar with though.

Link still bad for me.Tried it on firefox and Safari. Weird.
Good luck with your project.

I cant get any of the links to work, what points from wv and va. are you looking for? you said Appalachia earlier I suppose you were talking about Appalachian type? I have some quartzite examples.

For those who can't open the list - here it is. The other list was color-coded, for priority of types. This list does need to be updated. You will notice alot of the names (maybe the vast majority) are types you aren't familiar with. Some of the more obscure types are very location specific and only found on one site, or in a small area. However, there are MANY on this list that are common points types, but we still need good, classic, examples of the type. These points are from all regions, and there will be some from your area (regardless of where you are) that we still need some from. The problem lies in recognizing these types and finding classic examples. Thanks for your help!

I've got better than average examples of badin, montgomery, and chesapeake diamond, possible new market and randolph too that I'd be willing to donate. Let me take some pics and I'll get back to you.

Neanderthal, here's the pic of some points you're looking for, I'm 99% sure about the montgomery and chesapeake diamond types, the badin type is harder to id at a slightly larger and thicker triangle, I'm not sure about those to be honest. Top row montgomery, 2nd row chesapeake diamond, 3rd row badin? gimme a holler if you see anything worthy.
