I haven't dug a silver coin in 6 weeks. I was to the point that I was wondering if there was something wrong with my detector. I dug a piece of peacock ore (second piece at this site, assume that coal miners dug these on occasion and gifted the nice pieces).

Reading about this form of pyrite I gathered that I was going to need the full power of the chakra aura to snap me out of this slump. And indeed it worked...ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1516731451.423712.webp
Finally a silver coin popped out of the hole, only a 63 Rosie, but I'll take it, my mojo is back and I am on the board, just barely.

Good luck out there!

Haha you have high standards for yourself. I haven't found a silver coin since October or November but you go to better sites than me overall. Yesterday I was looking for a new post from you since the weather was warm and not raining. Looks like we have some favorable weather coming up.

Thx MH! I think I need to mix my site selection up a bit. Some of my real old sites have been productive recently with cool old coppers, but really no old silvers. The 1900's sites seem to have more silver coins. It should be good hunting weather this weekend, I hope you will be able to get out.

I don't judge my hunts by silver coins. I am looking for old stuff. You do fine my friend. Good hunt.

Great rosie and pretty relics, nice digs..

Mojo, aura, Law of Attraction, whatever phrase you care to use, a positive attitude always helps me make excellent finds. What you beam out into the universe, the universe will beam back to you ! It may only be a 63 Rosie, but its silver and its yours ! Nice find.

Is this Bornite a copper sulfide ? Also called "The Stone of Happiness" ? I didn't know about this mineral, but it makes some pretty jewelry. Thanks for sharing !

Well you are on the silver board for 2018, but like you say...just barely. I however, have been on the 2018 silver board for two weeks, but haven't swung a detector since Christmas. Got a 1945-S war nickel in change :laughing7:

Yes, it's bornite. The 2 rocks I've found at this site have rung up like a silver quarters. Not like typical crummy signal hot rocks. I wonder if many other metal detectorists find peacock ore. My kids think it is radioactive because of the brilliant iridescence, hope not...

Cool, now that the firsts are out of the way, let's hope for good weather this weekend and some quality finds!

I'm taking a half day Friday to hunt an area that should produce something worth posting about. It dates back to the later 1800's, fingers crossed that I find some silver. I agree with your logic but I'd still go to the older sites regardless. I like finding anything old that I can trace back with some research. That's half the fun in my opinion.

Good luck this weekend as well!

Congratulations on the nice finds and ending the silver drought!

They are now calling for AM showers on Saturday. We'll see.

Nicely done pdns. Things can go south and that can happen. Your silver will probably start showing up in droves now!

Congrats on the silver rosie and other relics! Looks like our soil may just stay shovel ready for a while now. Whoohoo!

Nice toy soldiers

Great treasures thank you for sharing
